Services for Markdown to Html

It occurs to me that I can actually type markdown text directly into the MarsEdit editing window and then convert that text directly (in-window as it were) to publishable html via an OS X service called:

md - Convert - Multimarkdown to HTML

This is no doubt the absolute fastest way to use markdown in MarsEdit

There’s a whole bunch of similar services available for the Mac and they can be had from this site. Brett Terpstra has provided a truly valuable service in publishing this material.

Byword 2.0 - Casual Glance

I’m typing this into version 2.0 of Byword. I’ve just upgraded to this new version of this text editing program for the OS X and at this point in time I have not paid my money to do the in-app upgrade to allow publishing directly to various online services including Wordpress, Blogger, and Evernote. I guess I’m curious about how that works, but at the moment I’ll be taking this markdown content and after converting it to html copying it into Marsedit which is still my publishing program of choice on this Mac platform.

I must admit however, that I’m sorely tempted to pay the money to see just how elegantly this works. This article is certainly a convincing piece on for going the whole hog with this program.
